The Danube Rectors' Conference (DRC) is a strong network of 70 universities in the Danube Region. Our aim is to improve higher education in teaching and research, together with the advancement of our member universities by establishing sustainable contacts.
Your benefits
The benefits of becoming a member of DRC include:
- professional updating through conferences and workshops
- membership of a "club", networking. Attending conferences and workshops supports the establishment of communities of practice in which the members build confidence in each others capabilities
- integration in the relevant action groups for the Danube Region Strategy (EUSDR). Contribute actively to the actions taken, instead of watching the results from an external perspective!

Eligible members of the DRC are universities in the region and institutions that are recognized by the state or belong to the network of state recognized universities which submit regular applications. The DRC offers eligible universities and institutions the opportunity to join the DRC as an observer/guest for one year, before becoming a full member. In this year the observers/guests can participate in the activities of DRC without paying membership fee BUT cannot vote on DRC decisions.

Application procedure
1. Apply for the DRC membership filling out the application form and collecting the recommendation letter from National Rectors’ Conference or at least recommendation of two full members of DRC in case Rectors’ Conference does not exist in its home country.
2. Send the two documents to the DRC Permanent Secretariat via e-mail address info@drc-danube.org
3. Wait for the confirmation of receipt of the documents by the DRC Permanent Secretariat.
4. The application will be discussed during Presidency meeting.
5. The candidate university will be informed about the decision of the DRC Presidency regarding the application and about further steps concerning the application process by the DRC Permanent Secretariat.
6. The candidate university is presented during DRC Annual Conference during which the DRC General Assembly decides on the membership application.
